Every year the cruise lines launch fresh ships with new dining, new entertainment, and new “wow” spaces, so before we lock in your sailing, I always like to check what the newest options bring to the table. Here’s my quick “meet the class of 2026” roundup, plus who I think each ship is perfect for.   Disney Adventure | Singapore (March 2026)Disney’s newest ship is also set to be their largest, sailing from Singapore. What I’m excited about: This ship is designed with brand-new themed spaces and a totally different feel from the current Disney fleet. I’m especially watching for the new “hub” style areas—think an open-air performance/gathering space, new family-friendly zones, and superhero experiences that feel more immersive than ever. Best for: Families who want Disney magic with a new itinerary base (Asia), and anyone who loves being “first” on the newest Disney product.  Norwegian Luna | Miami (April 2026)Norwegian Luna is part of NCL’s Prima Plus class and is coming in hot with entertainment, including “Rocket Man,” a tribute production celebrating Elton John, plus more high-energy nightlife options. What I’m excited about: If you love a ship that feels modern and elevated (but still fun), this class is a great fit, plus the onboard wellness side is strong, with a spa/thermal suite experience that people really rave about. It’s a great option for travelers who want variety without feeling like they’re on a “party ship.” Best for: Couples, friend trips, and adults who want modern design, big entertainment, and a fun “do a little of everything” vibe.  Viking Mira | Europe (June 2026)Viking Mira launches June 5, 2026, continuing Viking’s elegant, calm ocean-ship style, plus itineraries that blend classic ports with a few surprises. What I’m excited about: Viking is very destination-forward, so the itinerary is often the star, and Mira is slated to offer routes that feel curated (including ports that aren’t always on the “same old” list). If you love a serene ship with a consistent, upscale experience from start to finish, this one is worth watching. Best for: Travelers who love a refined, adult-focused experience, think destination-forward days, relaxing evenings, and a clean, understated luxury feel.  Legend of the Seas | Europe + Caribbean (July 2026)Royal Caribbean’s Icon Class is heading to Europe, with Legend of the Seas debuting in summer 2026 and bringing those headline features (big waterpark energy, big shows, big “WOW”). What I’m excited about: This is a true “ship-as-the-destination” experience, waterpark-style thrills, massive production entertainment, and lots of neighborhoods to explore onboard. It’s also great for mixed-age groups because everyone can do their own thing during the day and come back together for dinner and shows. Best for: Families and groups who want a “resort at sea” experience, especially if your crew wants water slides, high-energy entertainment, and nonstop options.   EXPLORA III | Europe (August 2026)Explora Journeys’ EXPLORA III is set for an early August 2026 inaugural sailing window, continuing that sleek, European-luxury style, with hints of expanded spaces and new touches onboard. What I’m excited about: Explora tends to shine when it comes to dining and that “calm luxury” atmosphere, beautiful design, excellent service, and a more spacious feel than many big ships. I’m also watching for potential new culinary concepts and expanded family areas that make luxury cruising easier with kids or teens. Best for: “Luxury, but not stuffy” travelers, great for couples, milestone birthdays, and anyone who wants elevated dining + beautiful design.  Viking Libra | Greece (December 2026)This one is a headline-maker: Viking Libra is positioned as Viking’s step into hydrogen-powered cruising and a more sustainability-forward future. What I’m excited about: Beyond the innovation, the big win here is what that technology can mean for access—potentially allowing travel in more environmentally sensitive areas. If you already love Viking’s calm, adult-focused style, this is that same vibe with a future-forward twist. Best for: Travelers who love Viking and care about innovation/sustainability, plus anyone dreaming of Greece with that Viking signature style .   MSC World Asia | Barcelona + Mediterranean (December 2026)MSC World Asia is bringing an Asia-inspired theme and is slated to begin Mediterranean itineraries in early December 2026. What I’m excited about: MSC does a great job with high-energy ships, lots of dining choices, entertainment, and fun “spaces to wander.” I also love when a ship leans into a theme through food and design, so I’m watching for the new restaurant concepts and upgraded thrill features onboard. Best for: Travelers who want high energy, big-ship variety, especially if you love modern ships with lots of entertainment and dining options.  Seven Seas Prestige | Barcelona to Miami (December 2026)Regent’s Seven Seas Prestige is a new class for the line and is scheduled to enter service December 13, 2026, with Regent leaning even harder into that all-inclusive luxury suite life. What I’m excited about: Regent does “everything included” incredibly well, and a new class usually means fresh suite designs and new wow spaces (I’m especially curious about the new atrium concept). If you want luxury where you truly don’t have to think about the details once you’re onboard, this is the kind of sailing that delivers. Best for: Luxury lovers who want everything included (and want to feel spoiled in the very best way).
