Are You Ready For the Disney Wish?

Disney’s newest ship, the Disney Wish. The Wish will sail its maiden voyage, this week.  If you’ve ever sailed on a Disney cruise ship before you know that they are exceptional. And from everything I’ve seen and heard, the Disney Wish is going to be the most magical ship yet.

Here are some of the features that make this new ship unique:

The ship has 1,254 staterooms and suites, most with views of the ocean.  All the staterooms feature designs and artwork from beloved fairytales like Cinderella, Tangled, and Sleeping Beauty.

The AquaMouse is the first-ever Disney attraction at sea that will bring Mickey shorts to life with lightning, special effects and 760 feet of water tubes.   You’ll board two-seater vehicles and ascend into the Mickey cartoon world of a new animated short called “Scuba Scramble,” as you zip through tunnels and up and down speed blasters before reaching a loop over the edge of the ship where you’ll get clear views down to the ocean.

The Disney Wish will have more pools (a total of 6) and deck space than any other Disney ship.  Pool areas include a Toy Story Splash Zone for children and an adult-only infinity pool overlooking the ocean.

The Wish takes entertainment to the next level.  The fairytale-inspired Grand Hall stage will premiere two new stage shows (to be announced later), and it will include an adaptation of “Disney’s Aladdin — A Musical Spectacular.” The ship will also have two cinemas and plenty more entertainment options on board.

There are plenty of imaginative activities for kids.  Marvel Superhero Academy is where young recruits will train alongside some of their favorite superheroes.  At Imagineering Lab, kids will learn how Imagineers design some of Disney’s popular attractions and can design their own rollercoaster and virtually ride it.  Fairytale Hall includes Belle’s Library, Anna and Elsa’s summer house, and Rapunzel’s art class.

Disney Wish has three NEW family restaurants.  Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure is Disney’s first Frozen-themed theatrical dining experience that will bring the world of Arendelle to life through immersive live entertainment — featuring fan-favorite characters like Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, and Olaf — and world-class cuisine infused with Nordic influences.  Worlds of Marvel is the first-ever Marvel cinematic dining adventure, where you’ll play an interactive role in an action-packed Avengers mission that unfolds around you, complete with a worldly menu inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  1923 is a restaurant that will be out as a 1920s Hollywood experience representing Walt Disney’s heyday and serving a California fusion menu

Adults will also be able to visit three classy dining experiences. The Rose, inspired by the hit Disney film Beauty and the Beast, Palo Steakhouse, and a dining area called Enchanté.

Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge, is a first-of-its-kind adult lounge, where you’ll board a luxury spaceship to sip otherworldly concoctions.

I’m ready to set sail now!  How about you?  😊
